Bio
I am Evey Huang, a Research Assistant Professor at Northwestern University’s Kellogg School of Management. I study how AI changes the way people work together and how to design AI that supports collective work.
My research combines human-computer interaction and computational social science. Across science, entrepreneurship, and knowledge work, I examine how collaborators make expertise usable, how interaction shapes collective work, and how AI affects the diversity of ideas and judgments. I connect close observation of work with computational analysis and the design and field study of new systems.
I earned my PhD in Technology and Social Behavior at Northwestern, a joint program in Computer Science and Communication Studies. My doctoral research grew out of a sustained partnership with an entrepreneurship incubator. I also coached undergraduate engineering students in human-centered design and engineering practices.
Alongside academic research, I contribute to AI design and engineering projects in industry. Outside work, I enjoy guitar, photography, tennis, reading, doodling, and cooking spicy food.
